IPCC Climate change and land special report 2019

Authors: IPCC - Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

The report dissects the issue of climate change highlighting its repercussions on the earth’s soil. The increase in surface temperature resulted in desertification and land degradation – such as the increase, in terms of frequency and intensity, of precipitations and extreme weather events – with direct consequences on global food security. Responses aimed at climate change mitigation are analyzed in the report too, highlighting their benefits and limitations as well as the role of institutions in the implementation of such measures. Finally, actions that can be implemented in the short term are listed.
