With more than 400 locations worldwide, the Bosch Group has been carbon-neutral since the first quarter of 2020. The basis for the company’s future growth is its innovative strength. At some 129 locations worldwide, 73,000 Bosch associates are engaged in research and development, including around 34,000 software engineers.

The company was founded in Stuttgart in 1886 by Robert Bosch (1861-1942) as a “Workshop for Precision Mechanics and Electrical Engineering”. The corporate structure of Robert Bosch GmbH ensures the entrepreneurial independence of the Bosch Group, enabling the company to pursue long-term strategies and new investments that will secure its future.

The Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH charitable foundation holds 94 percent of the shares of Robert Bosch GmbH. The remaining shares are held by a company owned by the Bosch family and by Robert Bosch GmbH. The majority of the voting rights are held by the trust company Robert Bosch Industrietreuhand KG, which manages the entrepreneurial functions of the company.

Bosch is playing a pioneering role in climate action – out of conviction and out of a sense of responsibility to society.

From 2020, the Bosch Group, with its more than 400 locations worldwide, will be carbon neutral.
